The other players will maintain exclusive control over their assigned heroes and their actions, both in and out of combat, so it’s a very collaborative storytelling experience. This host player can still operate a hero if they so choose, though they could also take on a more narratory role if they so choose. Save files are stored locally rather than serverside, so one person will need to act as the “executor” of the adventure, as it were. Speaking of the D&D comparison, one player does need to act as a host for the game before others can join. While the game is a turned-based affair, players choose their heroes actions on an individual basis instead of having one person choose everything, not unlike the relationship between players and a Dungeon Master. The game’s story campaign can have up to five heroes in the party, and through co-op, each player can take control of one of these heroes. While the game didn’t originally have co-op functionality at the beginning of its Early Access build, Wildermyth did eventually receive it near the end of the developmental period, and that function has carried over into the full release. So, does Wildermyth have co-op? Does Wildermyth Have Co-op? But say, you know what really makes a game of Dungeons and Dragons, and by extension, Wildermyth, fun? Having some good friends to play it with. Following your player characters in this game is not unlike building up a character sheet, and feels just as gratifying. Wildermyth is not unlike a good game of Dungeons and Dragons: a fantasy story that grows and develops organically the further you get into it. ![]()
